Allen & Heath Avantis :Compact Digital Mixer with dLive Power

The Allen & Heath Avantis digital mixer was built to revolutionize the way you mix live sound. Equipped with the same dLive technology as Allen & Heath’s flagship mixers, the Avantis is a 64-channel/42-bus compact console that strikes the perfect balance between old-school analog mixing and cutting-edge digital processing. Those who love analog mixers will appreciate the 24 channel strips complete with manual faders and PAFL switches. The unit has dual 15.6-inch DSP touchscreens that offer gesture control, fully customizable routing options, and 144 fader strips (24 faders, six layers). Whether it’s handling a few mic connections or synchronizing gear with the word clock and connecting to a Dante network, the Avantis can handle all your live sound needs.

Customizable layout gives you total control

If you want to control as much of the performance as possible, you’ll love the Avantis. Why? This compact unit gives you total control over mix bus architecture and lets you customize the layout in whatever way that makes the most sense to you. Avantis is loaded with Continuity UI that uses drag ’n’ drop parameters and physical controls to create an intuitive workflow with at-a-glance navigation. As if that’s not enough control, the Avantis by Allen & Heath has 24 assignable SoftKeys and user-configurable rotary controls.

Dual 15.6-inch touchscreens turbocharge your workflow

Allen & Health wanted to make the Avantis their most flexible compact mixer yet. To do that, they loaded the unit with Continuity UI and two 15.6″ high-definition touchscreens. These screens are ultra responsive and utilize gesture controls to pinch, swipe, and drag ’n‘ drop your way through the intuitive interface. You can open configurable widget areas to load up your scenes, meters, and use RackExtra FX to add effects like Reverb, Chorus and Delays. With the abundance of options and user control, your workflow will look and feel exactly how you want it to.

Superior expandability can handle it all

Straight out of the box, Avantis can handle 12 XLR inputs and outputs, network I/O and SLink connections to handle 64 channels at a time with 144 fader strips. The Avantis has two I/O ports on the back that are each capable of 128 x 128 operation at 96kHz for cards including Dante, MADI, Waves, and gigaACE. This mixer has an SLink port that controls your I/O expanders, stage boxes, and networked equipment. The Avantis is equipped with word clock I/O that keeps all your digital gear perfectly synced to ensure your show runs without a hitch.

It also doubles as a 10 x 2 channel USB audio interface for capturing live performances, cutting tracks in your home studio, or hosting a podcast. Gigging artists appreciate the FLOW 8’s Bluetooth connectivity for streaming backing tracks and playing music during set breaks. With the Behringer FLOW 8, you don’t need to be a professional live sound engineer or break your gear budget to get a great mix!

Assisted setup and EZ-Gain gain staging

If you’re unexperienced with audio, running a digital mixer can be a daunting task. You have to know the right input to use for a source, how to set compressors and tweak EQs, and understand sometimes complex signal routing. But FLOW 8 flattens the learning curve by providing assisted setup with the FLOW 8 app. This setup wizard guides you, step by step, on how to set up a mix. Just select the source you want to work with, and the FLOW 8 app will walk you through the rest. Once you’ve got all of your mics and instruments connected, FLOW 8’s EZ-Gain feature will help you set the ideal channel gain by automatically adjusting to the input level of the source signal, keeping noise low and preventing clipping.

    Studio-quality preamps, converters, and effects

With FLOW 8, Behringer delivers an affordable and powerful digital mixer with outsized sonic performance. It shares the same high-quality converters and 32 VFP-Processing found on Behringer’s popular X32, X-Air, and WING series of digital mixers, and it’s loaded with two studio-grade Midas microphone preamps, which are known for their uncolored, transparent sound. Each channel comes equipped with a 4-band EQ, easy-to-use compressor, and two effects sends for blending effects such as delay and reverb. Speaking of which, FLOW 8 boasts no less than 12 reverb programs, on top of numerous delays and modulation effects.

Bluetooth remote control with the FLOW app

Behringer’s FLOW 8 digital mixer has intuitive physical controls, including faders, encoders, and a large master volume knob, if you want to run a quick mix right from the front panel. But if you want to dig deeper, launch the FLOW app from any iOS/Android device. Not only does the app provide remote control of FLOW 8 via Bluetooth, but it also gives you access to FLOW 8’s assistance features and lets you save and load unlimited snapshots of your favorite mixer settings.

    Built-in USB audio interface

Doubling as a multichannel USB audio interface, the FLOW 8 is just at home in the studio as it is onstage. Whether you’re livestreaming, podcasting, or recording music, FLOW 8 is an excellent studio partner. It features zero-latency monitoring and works with any DAW. It’s also brilliant for recording gigs and capturing live in-studio performances.
