    AKG C314 Large-diaphragm Condenser Microphone

    Recording Microphones
    ₹59,999.00

    A Great One-mic Solution

What are you recording today? A choir? A rock band? Voiceovers or Foley? When you need a mic that will accurately capture any source, you’ll be impressed by the AKG C314 condenser microphone, sibling to the legendary C414. Made in the same factory in Austria, it uses AKG’s famous XLS microphone capsule, which has been finely tuned to deliver a clear, full sound and an off-axis response that doesn’t sound unnatural. The C314 offers an outstanding dynamic range and ultra-low noise, which means you’ll be able to capture dynamic vocalists and instruments with the utmost detail. And with the C314’s multi-polar-pattern design, you can use it for vocals, as a room mic, for recording large ensembles, and more.

AKG C314 Condenser Microphone at a Glance:

    • AKG’s XLS mic capsule sounds great in any setting
    • Overload indicator helps you make better recordings
    • A great go-to mic for project studios

AKG’s XLS mic capsule sounds great in any settingRecording engineers  like AKG’s XLS mic capsule because it produces great results from anything you put in front of it. We also like it because any off-axis sounds it picks up still sounds natural, unlike some mics that sound significantly different when off-axis sounds are introduced. So even if you’ve got some bleed from other sources, you’ll still get great results from the AKG C314.

Overload indicator helps you make better recordingsWhile the AKG C314 microphone can handle impressive SPL levels (up to 155dB with the pad engaged), it also sports a peak indicator LED that tells you when you’re overloading the mic. When you’re setting up mics and doing a sound check you won’t need to constantly reference your monitoring system to know excessive sound levels are distorting the mic.

A great go-to mic for project studiosWhile any recordist can appreciate the great sound and recording flexibility of the AKG C314, it really packs a lot of value for project studios that regularly record different sound sources. Even if your sessions for the week range from voiceovers, hand percussion, and choirs to string quartets, rock bands, and Foley for sound design, you’ll get exceptional results with an AKG C314.

    AKG C314 Condenser Microphone Features:

    • Multi-pattern condenser microphone with AKG’s acclaimed XLS mic capsule
    • Cardioid, supercardioid, omni and figure-8 polar patterns give you plenty of recording options

    Sound Quality & Performance

    Reviews highlight:

    • Clean, warm, neutral tonality with crisp detail—strong on vocals and acoustic instruments

    • Its low coloration is ideal for versatile recording use
    • Some note it “over-emphasises the high‑mids” on certain acoustic sources; may need EQ
    • Excellent SPL handling: records loud sources cleanly with pad enabled

    Reddit insights:

“I have that mic and you don’t need a cloud lifter… it picked up my family in the living room talking” — emphasizing its high sensitivity and no need for inline preamps

Users also note it’s not ideal for live stage use due to bleed pickup

    Drawbacks

    • Relatively high self-noise (~15 dB-A), may not suit ultra-quiet voice‑over or broadcast applications

    • Heavier than some alternatives—may not be ideal for handheld use
    • Some users find it slightly bright; may need EQ adjustment

    Is It Right for You?

    • Ideal for: Home and project studios, miking acoustic instruments, vocals, ensembles, overhead drums, and guitar amps.

    • Less ideal for: Quiet voice-over where self-noise matters, live stage use where isolation is needed, or handheld use because of weight.

    Setup & Use Tips

    • Requires a quality audio interface with 48V phantom power (e.g., Focusrite Scarlett Solo or Audient iD4) and a good XLR cable

    • Use the pad switch for loud sources; engage low-cut to reduce proximity boom.

    • Be mindful of room acoustics—condenser mics pick up bleed, so isolate or treat your space.

    • Place hand-held carefully or consider another mic for stage use.

    Final Verdict

The AKG P420 delivers pro-level utility and sound quality at a mid-range price. With its multi-pattern flexibility, rugged build, and clean tone, it’s a versatile mic that suits many recording needs—especially in home and project studios. If you’re okay with its weight and self-noise level, and you’ll use its polar modes, it’s a standout value.

Because of its ability to handle many different sources, it’s been used in some of the world’s leading broadcast facilities, recording studios, and performance stages. This characteristic response and spatial detailing makes lead vocals and solo instruments stand out, even in a dense mix. If the nine polar patterns aren’t enough to get the sound you need, the C414 XLII offers a bevy of other control options to fine-tune the microphone to your needs. The C414 XLII offers three different bass cut filters and three switchable pre-attenuation pads at -6dB, -12dB, and -18dB. Discover the Power of a Reinvented Classic Condenser!

From the leading broadcast facilities world-wide to the recording studios and the performance stages that have hosted the top musical artists of all genres for more than 60 years, the AKG C414 large Diaphragm Condenser Microphone needs little introduction. There are few microphones that are as widely considered a de facto part of any professional engineer’s mic locker as this famous microphone. Part of what has maintained the C414 as an industry standard has been its impressive versatility, and AKG has pushed the envelope again with the addition of the C414 XLS to this famous line.

    Legendary quality

The C414 XLS is an astonishing microphone. Engineered for highest linearity and neutral sound, it maintains the reliable sonic character of the legendary C414 B-ULS (the longest-lived C414 model) while introducing some astonishing new features. It also features an astoundingly low noise floor and a 152dB dynamic range, making the C414 XLS ideal for any musical environment. A locking mode allows you to disable all of the C414 XLS’s controls for live-sound applications and permanent installations, and a special “Peak Hold” LED displays even shortest overload peaks.

    Legendary AKG Sound

The AKG C214 is the younger brother of AKG’s legendary C414 condenser – similar to the 414’s legendary sound, but at an entry-level price. The affordable C214 actually uses the same one-inch dual-capsule as the C414 in a single-diaphgram, cardioid-only design. The result? Highly-detailed, up-front sound on both voices and instruments with an overall performance close to that of the famous C414 B-XLS. Now you can get that epic AKG sound on any budget with the new C214!

A versatile addition to any mic locker

    Incredible dynamic range

The AKG C214 delivers AKG’s classic large-diaphragm sound – and it’s also capable of an impressive 143dB dynamic range for uncompressed, natural transients.

Use it on a variety of sources

If you want a premium vocal mic, you’ve found it with the AKG C214. And while it’s well worth the investment for that quality alone, you’ll find that the C214 performs just as well on a variety of instruments. Thanks to its switchable 20dB attenuation pad and low-cut filter, the C214 can be used in sound fields as high as 156dB SPL – you can use it onstage for close miking loud applications such as drum overheads, guitar amps, or high-output brass. Whatever your needs, the C214 is an excellent mic to have on your side.

    Quality AKG Construction

AKG mics are engineered from the ground up to truly perform. The C214 features an integrated capsule suspension that reduces mechanical noise and resonances for even greater sonic accuracy. Plus, the double mesh, all-metal grille protects the capsule and ensures high RF immunity without affecting the mic’s acoustical performance. This is one roadworthy mic, too – the C214 features a modern scratch-resistant finish, dent-resistant metal grille, and gold-plated XLR output.

Ideal Condenser for Studio and Mobile Use

Grab the updated AKG C1000 S MK4 and see what you’ve been missing. Sales Engineers have long recommended the C1000 S to project studio engineers and field recording specialists for years because of its clarity and versatility, and this updated version is more versatile than ever. Switchable capsule caps provide cardioid and hypercardioid polar pattern, plus an optional gain boost, while the addition of a switchable pad and highpass filter let you tailor the frequency response to a wide range of applications. You can power the C1000 S MK4 with a pair of AA batteries for up to 120 hours, making it a great companion for your mobile recording. What’s more, the internally shockmounted capsule has been redesigned with gold-plating to resist rust and corrosion.

    AKG C1000 S MK4 Condenser Microphone at a Glance:

    • Great for mobile recording or live sound with phantom or battery power
    • Cardioid pattern can be quickly switched to hypercardioid
    • Switchable pad and highpass filter for added flexibility

Great for mobile recording or live sound with phantom or battery power

The versatility of the C1000 S MK4 makes this an extremely popular model, and one ideally suited for all kinds of recording and live sound applications. If no phantom power is available, the mic can be powered by two standard AA batteries, making it perfect for mobile use. With its new battery monitoring electronics, the C1000 S MK4 features a reliable LED warning light. The red LED above the microphone switch lights up when the C1000 S MK4’s remaining battery life falls below 45 minutes. You’ll never be caught with a useless mic in situations where phantom power is not available!

Cardioid pattern can be quickly switched to hypercardioid

Many of us here have used C1000 S models since they first came out, and they’re wonderful mics for acoustic guitar, percussion, and even certain types of vocals. One of the things that makes this mic particularly versatile is its switchable diaphragm cabs, which let you choose between cardioid and hypercardioid polar patterns, or add a presence boost. With the presence boost adapter in place, you get an extra 3-5dB of high-end enhancement between 5kHz and 9kHz, which can be a real asset if you’re using your C1000 S MK4 for ENG or interview applications.

Switchable pad and highpass filter for added flexibility

One of the most surprising things about the C1000 S MK4 revision is the addition of both a highpass filter and a pad. While you won’t find these controls on the outside of the mic, they’re accessible via the battery compartment, where you can’t accidentally switch the setting during run-and-gun recording. The highpass filter is set at 80Hz, which is perfect for cutting out handling noise (already mitigated by the internal spider shockmount) and proximity effect. That’s particularly useful when you hand the mic to an inexperienced speaker for ENG applications. Likewise, there’s a switchable -10dB pad onboard, which can save you from preamp overloads if you’re recording loud drums or guitar cabinets.

    AKG C1000 S MK4 Condenser Microphone Features:

    • A highly versatile small-diaphragm condenser microphone for mobile and studio use
    • Great for acoustic guitar and percussion as well as speech and vocals

    • Nine polar patterns, for amazing versatility
    • What you can do with this workhorse mic

Nine polar patterns, for amazing versatilityThe AKG P820 Tube includes a remote power supply with a rotary switch that lets you select the microphone’s polar pattern from omnidirectional (fully counter-clockwise) to cardioid (center) to figure-8 (fully clockwise). Between those settings are six intermediate patterns. All the switch positions are detented, so your settings are easily reproducible in the heat of session. engineers can verify the value of having multiple pickup patterns for immediate deployment. This feature – along with its gorgeous sonics and high-SPL capabilities – will make the P820 Tube your go-to studio workhorse mic for any number of recording applications, day-in and day-out.

What you can do with this workhorse micTwo singers, one mic: grab the AKG P820 Tube, set it to figure-8, and you’re good to go. Record a sax solo overdub with natural “slap”: position the P820 Tube (again, on figure-8) between the sax player and the control room window; adjust mic position to taste. Ginormous Val Garay-style toms (two racks and a floor): three P820s on cardioid, fairly close-in – just don’t let the drummer hit the mics! Full symphony orchestra, Bob Fine’s Mercury Living Presence technique: again, three P820s, this time set to omni, across the proscenium arch; record to three tracks panned left, center, right. Set your levels for peaks, then leave those faders alone and let the conductor balance the orchestra. We could go on, but even without exploring the intermediate polar pattern settings, you can already see how the P820 Tube can be used in any number of ways to produce incredible sounding tracks.

AKG P820 Tube Condenser Mic Features:
