    Behringer: a brief history

Uli Behringer showed an interest in music technology design at a young age, building his own synthesizer by the age of 16. In 1982, Uli began studying sound engineering and classical piano at the Robert Schumann conservatory in Dusseldorf, Germany. Uli’s defining moment came when he was repairing a signal processor made by a high-end manufacturer. Despite the processor’s expensive price tag, Uli realized that its internal components could be bought for a fraction of the cost. Being a strapped-for-cash student, Uli began building his own signal processors. Before he knew it, other students began requesting equipment from him. In 1989, after being bombarded with more orders than he could handle by himself, Uli created Behringer, Inc.

    • High and lowpass filters ensure clean sound

FBQ provides you with a feedback-free systemThe Behringer Ultragraph Pro’s FBQ Feedback Detection System delivers ultra-fast detection of problem frequencies, so you can stop feedback dead in its tracks. The system is child’s play to use. Whenever feedback is detected in a specific frequency range, an LED lights up on the associated EQ fader. You then lower the fader to zap the feedback. Here, we like that we can locate out-of-control frequencies at a glance, allowing us to quickly turn our focus back on the performance.

Top-quality components deliver excellent sound qualityThanks to excellent engineering, the Behringer Ultragraph Pro is a real performer. The 4580 dual op-amps employed throughout supply great signal integrity, while a Planet Earth switching power supply ensures low noise and superior transient response. The Ultragraph Pro is ideal for adding the finishing touch to your live show or recording, with 31 bands of smooth, precise equalization per channel.

High and lowpass filters ensure clean soundThe sweepable highpass (low-cut) and lowpass (high-cut) filters on each of the Behringer Ultragraph Pro’s channels attenuate unwanted sounds such as hiss, wind noise, floor rumble, electrical hum, and more. Ask any of the live sound techs, and they’ll tell you that unnecessary low-frequency content really eats up your power amp’s headroom. And having the ability to fine-tune your overall sound results in crystal-clear, dynamic output with the perfect level of low-end punch.

Behringer Ultralink MS8000 at a Glance:

    • Direct and Link outputs offer amazing flexibility
    • Input Link function doubles your outputs

Direct and Link outputs offer amazing flexibilityThe Behringer Ultralink MS8000’s eight front-panel XLR inputs make it easy to connect your microphones and DI boxes, even in a crowded rack. A Lift/Ground switch improves your sound by eliminating hum and other ground loop noises. An XLR Direct Out sends your signal post-transformer, while an XLR Link Out sends it pre-transformer. This allows you to send the Direct Out signal to front of house or a mixing console, while simultaneously sending the Link Out signal to your monitor board or headphone mixer.

Input Link function doubles your outputsBy employing the Behringer Ultralink MS8000’s Input Link function, you can link two adjacent channels. This allows you to connect a source to one channel and send it from the outputs of two channels. Imagine plugging your mic into Channel 1. You could then send your signal to front of house and a monitor mixer from Channel 1’s outputs, while sending it to a recording interface and broadcast mixer from Channel 2’s outputs. The Ultralink MS8000 also allows you to link two adjacent channels and merge their source into a single output, which is great for managing multiple playback devices or converting stereo signals to mono.
