Shure SM4 Home Recording Microphone

A Mic at Home in Any Studio Though Shure bills the SM4 as a “home recording microphone,” many professional Sweetwater studio engineers are tempted to bring it wherever their recording sessions lead them! For starters, the SM4’s 1-inch dual-diaphragm brass capsule provides both a full 20Hz–20kHz frequency response and a uniform true cardioid polar pattern with excellent off-axis rejection.

There’s also Shure’s patent-pending Interference Shielding Technology, which deftly blocks the undesirable radio frequency noises from wireless devices that often plague home recording environments. Next, an internal pop filter plus a high max sound pressure level (SPL) handling means that the SM4 gives you quality audio that’s free of booms, pops, and plosives right from the start.

Finally, the all-metal, low-profile design instantly adds a professional aesthetic to any home studio, fitting perfectly alongside any world-class mics you may already own.
