Affordable Low-frequency Monitoring Accuracy from Genelec

Extend the low end of your monitoring system with the Genelec 7050C powered subwoofer. This compact sub gets you tightly down to 24Hz (-6dB), while its innovative Laminar Spiral Enclosure yields outstanding bass articulation and enhanced low-frequency capacity. An optimized 130-watt Class D amplifier, active crossover, and room response controls further solidify the sonic precision of the 7050C. You also save energy, by virtue of Genelec’s Intelligent Signal Sensing power management feature. An ideal companion for your 8010, 8020, 8030 or M030 monitors, the Genelec 7050C active subwoofer is an excellent way to achieve accurate full-bandwidth monitoring in your studio.

Laminar Spiral Enclosure (LSE) delivers smooth, controlled bass

Developed by Genelec’s award-winning R & D team in Finland, the 7050C active subwoofer’s radically innovative Laminar Spiral Enclosure (LSE) design dramatically alters how high-level, low-frequency acoustic energy is delivered to any critical listening space. The result of LSE technology is the elimination of port turbulence-caused acoustic non-linearities, which means a smooth-sounding flow of low-frequency energy from the 7050C’s rigid tuned enclosure.

Remarkable response from 8″ LF driver

The 7050C active subwoofer features a muscular 8″ LF driver loaded into a Laminar Spiral Enclosure (LSE) for optimal low-frequency response. Its free-field frequency response is 24Hz to 85Hz (-6dB). With 103dB of SPL handling, the 7050C delivers 0 watts of undistorted low end via a powerful Genelec-designed Class D amplifier. Here, we’ve combined the 7050C with a pair of 8010 or 8020 studio monitors for a full bandwidth system with genuine Genelec quality.

ISS Power Management saves precious energy

Genelec’s Intelligent Signal Sensing (ISS) feature automatically switches the active 7050C to standby, reducing power consumption to less than half a watt when no audio signal has been detected for awhile. When it receives an audio signal again, the loudspeaker turns back on. Fully compliant with the latest EU requirements and the ErP 2013 directive for electronic devices, ISS is good for the environment and will save you money on your studio electricity bill. It’s a win-win proposition!

    Perfect Pint-sized Monitor

Whether you’re setting up an editing suite in a closet-sized space, putting together a mobile media van, or simply don’t have the space or budget for larger studio monitors, the Genelec 8010 bi-amplified loudspeaker is a great pick. Although this pint-sized studio monitor features a 3″ woofer and a 3/4″ tweeter, it delivers a remarkable frequency response, extending from approximately from 74Hz to 20kHz. One thing the recording pros particularly appreciate about the 8010 is its steady low-end balance, which we don’t often find in a nearfield model. A pair of 8010s and a laptop are ideal for mobile production, and you can comfortably combine five 8010s with a 7050B subwoofer for an effective and affordable 5.1 surround system.

The characteristics of the 8000 Series in a compact size

All the natural, uncolored, and extremely low distortion reproduction characteristics of the highly praised Genelec 8000 series are here in the 8010, with a low-frequency extension you would never expect. Size is no handicap to performance with the 8010! It incorporates Genelec’s acoustic design innovations to minimize all forms of distortion. The 8010 has a die-cast aluminium Minimum Diffraction Enclosure (MDE), which features relatively large internal volumes, softly curved edges, and outstanding mechanical strength. As a result, the 8010’s imaging accuracy and low frequency extension with such a compact enclosure are truly astounding.

Genelec Quality in an Ultra-compact Monitor

Grab a set of Genelec 8020D active studio monitors and say goodbye to muddled, inaccurate sound and mixes that never seem to translate. Genelec upgraded their popular nearfield with more power, higher SPL capability, and lower energy consumption. When it comes to mixing music and producing professional audio, there’s no replacement for quality monitors. The 8020D delivers focused and precise sound with exceptional stereo imaging and directionality, as well as remarkably deep bass for its size. You’ll hear dimensional nuances in your mixes you never even realized were there! In addition, it features advanced technology like built-in Iso-Pod decoupling and ISS power management. Step up to a new level of monitoring accuracy with Genelec 8020D studio monitors from us.

Minimum Diffraction Enclosure delivers focused nearfield sound

The 8020D features Genelec’s Minimum Diffraction Enclosure (MDE) with rounded edges and a gently curved front and sides. This allows the 8020D to achieve a very smooth frequency response and superb imaging qualities with minimized cabinet-edge diffraction.

Directivity Control Waveguide enhances dimensional imaging

Like all Genelec 8000 Series monitors, the 8020D also features the advanced Genelec Directivity Control Waveguide (DCW). The revolutionary DCW has been further enhanced to provide extremely accurate control of the 8020D’s directivity. Genelec designed this specially-shaped and very smooth surface and integrated it with the enclosure. Its area has been maximized to achieve an astoundingly flat on and off-axis frequency response. The 8020D has a wide and consistent listening window, with minimal harmful early room reflections and other colorations associated with conventional designs.

High-performance reflex port design delivers extended lows

To increase the 8020D woofer’s low-frequency extension and SPL capacity, Genelec designed an ingenious flow-optimized reflex port. The long, curved tube maximizes airflow so the 8020D can reproduce surprisingly deep bass without compression. The tube terminates with a wide flare, minimizing port noises and providing excellent bass articulation. An optimized die-cast aluminum structure with extremely durable semi-matte finish and acoustically optimized metal grilles add to the 8020D’s acoustic excellence.

Dedicated high-headroom amps for each driver

Genelec’s low distortion drivers — a 4″ woofer and a 3/4″ metal-dome tweeter — are driven by the 8020D’s dedicated 50-watt Class D bass and treble amplifiers after sophisticated filtering. Magnetic shielding, overload protection circuitry, and versatile room response controls are standard.

Protected by Genelec’s ISS power management system

Thanks to Genelec’s Intelligent Signal Sensing (ISS) power management system, you never have to remember to shut down your 8020D monitors again. ISS circuitry checks for an input signal. After a period of time, if ISS doesn’t detect anything, it switches your 8020D over to a low-power sleep state, safeguarding your gear and sparing you the wasted electricity.

Versatile mounting options plus special Iso-Pod stand

The versatile mounting features on the 8020D include integrated rear support points for wall and floor stands plus a further 3/8″ thread for mounting on the cabinet base. In addition, every Genelec 8020D monitor comes with an Iso-Pod (Isolation Positioner/Decoupler) as standard. The Iso-Pod is a clever mounting stand, which allows the 8020D to perform in either the vertical or horizontal position. The IsoPod also enables the acoustic axis of the monitor to be aimed at the listener, while acoustically and mechanically decoupling the monitor from the surface it’s resting on.

    Genelec 8020D Bi-Amplified Monitor Features:

    • Compact, versatile nearfield monitor for project studios, workstations, and surround components

Monitor Performance Starts with Driver Excellence

A monitor’s drivers are the heart and soul of its performance. Driving the low-end and midrange, M-Audio BX5D3 5-inch military-grade Kevlar® woofers are rigid and lightweight, delivering outstanding transient response whist negating unwanted “cone breakup.” BX5- D3’s treated silk dome tweeter provides the perfect combination of low mass and the absence of audible resonances that plague conventional tweeters. Together, the BX drivers deliver critical detail, nuance and dynamic accuracy, so your mixes have the veracity and transparency you demand.

    More Than Just an Enclosure

With M-Audio’s BX5-D3, every detail has been meticulously engineered with one goal in mind – to facilitate the freedom to mix with confidence. BX5-D3 monitors have a rear- mounted bass port, meticulously engineered to the exact length and diameter. The result? Deep, defined bass response with maximum bass extension and resolution. When combined with a smoothly-flared port, BX5-D3 monitors markedly reduce the audibly-intrusive air turbulence that results when bass is played back at high sound pressure levels (SPLs). BX5-D3’s tweeter is mounted in a custom waveguide for reliably accurate dispersion that eliminates unwanted high-frequency “scatter,” whilst ensuring a soundstage that remains consistently wide and stable. For seamless setup and easy-location of the optimum listening position, the BX5-D3’s front-mounted positioning LED shines brightly when you’re located in the perfect listening spot, for uncompromisingly accurate and reliable critical evaluations. Finally, BX5-D3’s iconic design on the front panel—M-Audio’s famous “keyhole” shape—is more than just an attractive look: This special “fastenerless” design ensures so there are no driver attachment screw heads to interfere with the sound coming from our drivers.

Driving the low-end and midrange, M-Audio BX8D3 8-inch military-grade Kevlar® woofers are rigid and lightweight, delivering outstanding transient response whist negating unwanted “cone breakup.” BX8- D3’s treated silk dome tweeter provides the perfect combination of low mass and the absence of audible resonances that plague conventional tweeters. Together, the BX drivers deliver critical detail, nuance and dynamic accuracy, so your mixes have the veracity and transparency you demand.

    More Than Just an Enclosure

With M-Audio’s BX8-D3, every detail has been meticulously engineered with one goal in mind – to facilitate the freedom to mix with confidence. BX8-D3 monitors have a rear- mounted bass port, meticulously engineered to the exact length and diameter. The result? Deep, defined bass response with maximum bass extension and resolution. When combined with a smoothly-flared port, BX8-D3 monitors markedly reduce theaudibly-intrusive air turbulence that results when bass is played back at high sound pressure levels (SPLs). BX8-D3’s tweeter is mounted in a custom waveguide for reliably accurate dispersion that eliminates unwanted high-frequency “scatter,” whilst ensuring a soundstage that remains consistently wide and stable. For seamless setup and easy-location of the optimum listening position, the BX8-D3’s front-mounted positioning LED shines brightly when you’re located in the perfect listening spot, for uncompromisingly accurate and reliable critical evaluations. Finally, BX8-D3’s iconic design on the front panel—M-Audio’s famous “keyhole” shape—is more than just an attractive look: This special “fastenerless” design ensures so there are no driver attachment screw heads to interfere with the sound coming from our drivers.

    Neumann KM184 Condenser Instrument Microphone

    Wired Microphones

The KM 184 is a state-of-the-art small diaphragm condenser microphone with a uniform, frequency-independent cardioid polar pattern. Its very natural, transparent sound with very low self-noise and high SPL capability have made the KM 184 a worldwide stage and studio standard for many applications ranging from classical piano to heavy metal drums.

Despite its attractive pricing, the KM 184 offers state-of-the-art Neumann engineering. Its cardioid pattern is frequency-independent; rejection of rearward sound (180°) is excellent, even at low frequencies. In practical usage, there is no sound coloration over a wide pickup angle, which is crucial in multi-microphone setups and for precise stereo/surround imaging. The KM 184’s frequency response is very smooth and linear with a slight treble lift around 9 kHz for added brilliance. Its innovative transformerless head amplifier offers a wide dynamic range of 125 dB and is carefully designed to maintain the capsule’s sonic integrity. The KM 184 has a very low self-noise of only 13 dB-A and can handle high sound pressure levels of up to 138 dB free from distortion. Due to its low impedance output stage, the KM 184 can drive long cable runs of up to 300 meters (1000 feet) without transmission losses.
